Sequoias

bubbles and water droplets
caught by dappled sunlight
through hundred year old
Sequoias,
their majesty mutes,
we reach around the trunk,
in silence,
just to see how far we can go,
in awe of something so simple,
whispers and giggles of delight
meet the thick, clinging, fog,
as it uncoils itself from
the ocean and wraps around
all beings in its path,
the trees soar to the roof of
this cathedral, all present
bow heads and give thanks
to Mother Nature for allowing
this awe inspiring experience

I melt

and there’s the way I melt
when the sun crosses your
face, glitters in your eyes
and warms your lips, so
ready for me to kiss you
back from that daydream
of whatever and wherever
you go when you get that
look like nothing else in the
world could possibly matter,
and
I hate to take you away from
that but I kiss you anyway,
so I can hopefully share that
place with you for a few moments

Say Something…

Say Something…

I’m not giving up on you
I’m just crawling back
Into my body
I need to take a rest from
All your grandeur
I need to take a break from
The pressure to be the
Me you have turned me into

Say something…

I’m coming back to your
Deafening personality
To be ripped from my bones
As a lump of putty
So easily shaped into
Any identity
You desire me to be

Say Something…

I’m trying to find you
My memory has obscured
Who I’m looking for
The gentle and kind and
Compassionate one isn’t
You any more, and I am
Gradually giving up on you

Say Something…

I am quickly giving up on me
